LADON'S VISION
Stronger, Safer Communities
Public Safety is my number one priority. I fully support our law enforcement officers,
and will work to get them the tools and resources they need to push back against
gangs and violent crime so Yakima County residents feel safe. I will also work to
reduce the plague of drug abuse, a huge problem our county faces at this time, and to help provide solutions to our growing homeless problem. That’s why I have worked so hard to make our Local Crime Lab a reality, as well as fund flock cameras for our cities
Encouraging Economic Growth
We can do this by working with the Yakima County Development Association, our
port districts, and the SIED Board to help attract new businesses to our county. I have worked to establish county cleanup initiatives to help make our county more attractive to outsiders. We can also work with existing establishments to make Yakima County a good place to do business. Finally, to allow for sustainable growth, I’m working to establish a water bank to support our county’s long-term development needs
Making Local Government More Responsive To Taxpayers
I feel a responsibility to put our tax dollars to good use and spend them carefully. I am
also working to make county government more user-friendly and responsive to citizen
concerns. Local government needs to work as hard as our local businesses.
